Vasai, India — relocating to Germany
Frontend Engineer · React & Next.js · Angular at enterprise scale · AI tools & automation
JeromeD’mello
I build frontends that large teams can keep shipping — and the AI tooling that takes the repetitive work off them.
Five and a half years at Infosys on enterprise platforms for Truist and Optus, including an AngularJS-to-Angular 16 migration delivered by a 25-engineer offshore team. Independent since February 2025: React applications, AI tools and automation for founders and small businesses. Relocating to Germany.

What colleagues say
Jerome is very technically oriented and completes tasks before they are required. I would absolutely recommend Jerome to a team who is looking for a team player that they can depend on to learn, execute and grow.
When he took courses in front-end development, his new learnings allowed us to reduce our reliance on outside consultants, saving the company money and time. He will be an asset to any work that he pursues.

About
I spent five and a half years at Infosys building and leading large-scale web applications for clients like Truist and Optus — from a legacy AngularJS-to-Angular 16 migration with a 25-person offshore team to BI portals used by thousands of employees.
Since February 2025 I work independently: building React applications, AI-powered tools and automation for founders and small businesses. I am relocating to Germany and learning German.

AI features that earn their place in a small product
Most "add AI" requests are really requests to remove a manual step. That reframing decides whether the feature is worth building.

What changed when I went from enterprise Angular to freelance React
Five and a half years inside a large delivery organisation taught me one set of habits. Working directly with founders taught me which of them were load-bearing.

Migrating a B2B platform from AngularJS to Angular 16
What actually decides a large migration: not the framework upgrade, but how you slice the work so twenty-five engineers can ship in parallel without blocking each other.
